Difference Between SEMCD and Lower Suction Dentures

A Suction Effective Mandibular Complete Denture (SEMCD) is simply another name for a lower suction denture and there is no difference between the two. At Alberta Denture Centre, our lower suction denture process begins with a free consultation to determine if this treatment is right for you. From there, we take an impression of your lower arch and create a measuring device designed specifically for your mouth. We also measure the distance between your upper and lower jaws, assess how your lower jaw moves side to side and front to back, and carefully study models of your mouth to achieve the best possible stability. Finally, we test your new dentures to ensure they fit securely and comfortably.
